Here are the different types you can find in Power BI:
Simple Waterfall: Shows the increase or decrease in values over time, along with the net total.
Variance Waterfall: Highlights the change between two measures over a period.
Combination Waterfall: Compares 2-3 measures, showing both net change and absolute values using overlapping columns.
Stacked Variance Waterfall: An advanced type that shows the composition at each level and the difference between compositions.
Breakdown Waterfall: Displays intermediate sums and highlights the net change between them.
Stacked Waterfall: Shows the flow and composition split at each level, along with the net total split.
Custom Breakdown Waterfall: Allows you to use features like "Invert," "Total," and "Result" to create custom waterfalls with interim values and calculations.
Regular Waterfall: Shows changes in values grouped by the parent axis, with an expand/collapse option for detailed view.
Continuous Waterfall: Displays continuous flow of change in value from start to end, adding up to the net total value.
Stacked Breakdown Waterfall: A hybrid of stacked and breakdown waterfalls, showing both composition splits and sub-totals.
IBCS Side by Side Waterfall: Plots two waterfalls next to each other for absolute and relative comparison.
IBCS Variance Waterfall: Supports up to three comparative measures with IBCS standards like hatched patterns and relative change pins.
IBCS Integrated Variance Waterfall: A combination waterfall supporting IBCS themes and designs, showing splits between AC and FC values.
Which type do you find the most fascinating? How many of these can you create in Power BI?
I was able to build all of them quickly using Inforiver Analytics+. It offers all the key features to create high-quality reports and gives you an edge in visualization.
